Ted’s Woodworking Review

I grew up in a woodworking household.   My dad built the house I was raised in.  I rocked in a chair he built and played with toys he made.  Unfortunately, I never took the time to learn those skills from him.   Now, I’ve got a family of my own and not time to spend in his shop, but I still want to build those things for my family.

I’ve wanted to build my own furniture and toys for my kids since I got a house and kids.   With that goal in mind, I collected all of the tools and learned how to use them.  I’ve got a tablesaw, a scroll-saw, a planer, drills and a drill-press, rasps, files, and more.  I’ve got everything I could need to build anything I want.

How the heck am I supposed to know what to build?   I could spend $1000 on books full of blueprints that don’t explain how to use the plans.  I could spend $5000 on classes to learn how to use the blueprints properly.

Yuck.

Naturally, I turned to the internet.

There is so much crap out there: worthless plans that are little more than sketches on napkins, bad measurements, unsafe practices, and more.  I’ve spent a ton of time and money looking for the best option and I may have found it in Ted’s Woodworking.

What is it?

Ted’s Woodworking is a digital collection of blueprints, plans, and photos giving you step-by-step instructions to build whatever you are attempting to build.

What’s included?

16,000(not a typo) plans!  That’s right, you get complete plans for building 16,000 woodworking projects.  Plans, photos, and more give you everything you need to build furniture, toys, gadgets, or whatever else you want to build.

You also get lifetime access to the members-only site, so there is always a helping hand available.

The Good

Each of the 16,000+ plans included with Ted’s Woodworking comes with detail instructions, blueprints, schematics, photos, and “pull apart” drawings.  A lot of them even have video explanations.  You get a complete bill of materials, so all you have to do is bring the list to the hardware store or lumber yard and have them fill the order.    No more making 10 trips for something you forgot but absolutely need.  You also get a list of the tools you’ll need, so, if you don’t have the right tool, you’ll know to either buy it or skip that project.

The Bad

The downside of having 16,000 plans and projects in one package is the organization.  Sometimes, it’s a bit daunting to dig through that many projects.   Some of the projects are even stuck in places that don’t make much sense.    You can search it, so it’s not that big of a deal, but it gets irritating at times.

The Great

There’s a 60-day, money-back guarantee.  If you’re not happy, you can get your money back, no questions asked!  That’s a no-risk proposition for you.

Conclusion

Really, compared to every other set of woodworking project plans available, Ted’s Woodworking wins.  Hands down.  Instead of paying $100 for a few dozen plans in a book, you’ll pay $67 for 16,000 plans.  It just can’t be beat.

Bonuses

I almost forgot, there are bonuses, too!

  1. CAD software.  This will help you design your own projects in the future.  Similar software goes for nearly $1000 on Amazon!
  2. 150 premium videos in the members-only area.  Can’t make sense of the blueprints?  Watch the video!
  3. A digital copy of the book, How to Start a Woodworking Business.   There’s nothing like making a living from a hobby you love.
  4. A digital copy of the book, Complete Woodworking Guides.  This gives you the little tips and tricks that make woodworking look easy for the pros.

With all of this, you just can’t beat Ted’s Woodworking.
